About Me

I have been working as a psychotherapist since 2014 when I qualified from Tivoli institute, the course was humanistic & integrative in approach. It is understood that the therapist’s personal awareness and development are central to the therapeutic relationship. With this in mind, I undertook 3 years of personal therapy to qualify in this professional course. This helped me deepen my understanding of how important safety and alliance are within the therapeutic relationship when working with trauma.

I started by volunteering in Living Life Counselling in Arklow, where I got to work with a diverse clientele. I moved on to working at Enniscorthy Vocational College, working with adolescents with complex behaviours. I then continued to open a private practice specialising in trauma, and in conjunction with that, I became a part of the Wexford Rape Crisis Centre, working with clients who have suffered childhood sexual abuse, rape, or domestic violence, and I also work with a charity called ‘First Light’ supporting suddenly bereaved parents and families.

Since I qualified as a psychotherapist, I have continued in my professional development to go on and achieve a professional qualification in the therapeutic use of mindfulness from the Irish Mindfulness Institute.

I have completed various workshops in relation to somatic approach’s and Eco and creativity, I also host selfcare workshops and I am a member of Emotionally focused Therapy (EFT) community Ireland.

To add to this I completed an intense program including CFT (compassion focused therapy & PVT (Poly vagal Theory), which fed into my passion for the nervous system and the power it holds behind the quality of our lives.
